Save the Date! The 2017 Valley Disaster Preparedness Fair will take place on Saturday, October 7, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Northridge Fashion Center (9301 Tampa Ave.). We'll be in the northwest portion of the theater parking lot, which is east of Shirley Ave. and south of Plummer St.

2017 Speaker Series at the Fair

Starting at 10:30 am we'll have a series of five 30-minute talks from five great speakers on topics relating to preparedness. Click here for the Speaker Series flyer and schedule.

Frank Borden Frank Borden, retired LAFD Assistant Chief and “father” of Community Emergency Response Team, will tell you about CERT, how it got started in Los Angeles, and spread to the rest of our Nation.

Dr. Jill Barnes Dr. Jill Barnes, Ph.D., Office of Emergency Services, School Operations, on how LAUSD schools prepare for and respond to emergencies and disasters.

Eric BoldtEric Boldt, Warning Coordination Meteorologist at National Weather Service in Oxnard, will cover severe weather and how you can prepare for adverse impacts.

Tanya YarbroughTanya Yarbrough will guide you through a session on Pet Prepared-ness and how to get your pet(s) trained and ready for a quick evacuation.

Dan Tomlinson Dan Tomlinson, ACS Battalion 10 Communications Coordinator, will demonstrate and explain how to use any two-way radio to communicate effectively, efficiently, and succinctly in a disaster or emergency situation.


bloodmobileCedars-Sinai Bloodmobile will be at the Fair from 9:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. Give the gift of life at the Fair! Donors may enter the Fairgrounds starting at 9:00 a.m. and proceed directly to donor screening.
